National Public Lands Day

To honor the 75th anniversary of “Roosevelt’s Tree Army,” volunteers of all ages are planting one million trees in the days leading up to National Public Lands Day in September, when Americans will join together to beautify treasured parks.

Plan now to join the nationwide effort on September 27 to preserve public lands by clearing trails, building bridges, and planting native trees at local sites. To find out how you can help spruce up our nation’s beautiful lands, visit publiclandsday.org. The website will tell you where to go, what needs to be done, and whom to contact for more information. Volunteers of all ages are welcome at many sites. Or call 202-261-6478 to speak with Claudia at the National Public Lands Day office.
