Resubscribing

I have subscribed to The Saturday Evening Post for some time, and as a child way back more years ago than I care to admit, my parents subscribed. It was a favorite in our household.

Recently, I received my renewal notices and ignored them. I have so much reading matter that I was thinking of perhaps cutting the list down a bit.

Then, I read two “Letters to the Editor” in the latest issue [March/ April]. The matter was settled. No matter what else I may drop, I will continue with the Post. The two letters I am referring to are 1) “Mencken Still Controversial” (OH PLEASE!) and 2) “Too Much Freedom.” What is wrong with one’s daughter or granddaughter reading about sex? If they are old enough to read this magazine, surely sex is not a forbidden subject. OH MY! By the way, this issue must have REALLY shocked the writer of that letter! The article on diabetes referred to some really unmentionable effects of the ailment! My subscription reorder is going in immediately!!!
