Bradbury describes the American spirit perfectly. We dream, we drift, we innovate. We sometimes fail to appreciate the special beauty of the land now scarred by the slings and arrows of outrageous politicians.

As one of those who dreamed of becoming a part of this nation, and then became part of this dream called America, I only wish every American would read and truly understand and believe the magnificent truth of this poem. Yes, America is an extraordinary nation and an exceptional country, and every American should be proud of it every single day.

I’m glad that Mr. Bradbury is not so anti immigration as many people are in these times. I like this different point of view.

Ray Bradbury is one of my favorite authors, and he turns a phrase nicely.
But I am forced to say that, because we who were gifted with freedom have failed to properly tie down government with the chains of our Constitution, this nation is quickly becoming the nightmare America’s Forefathers dreaded.
