I just began some PT to help with my parkinson's weakening legs. In reading this article, I assume that motorized bicyling would probably be better for my legs than using my own energies in cycling. I am hoping this center has a motorized bicycle that I can use (I was told they do, but?). Today they put me on one that was NOT motorized... so the workout was harder for me and maybe not as effective had it been motorized. Do you concur with my thoughts on this? They also have put me through some balance exercises...walking, which are difficult and I wonder how effective in the long run?

Thanks so much for your research in this area.

The "forced exercise" concept makes sense.
It appears to help discharge excess nervous energy built up in the patient's musculature--as well as, encourage secretion of tranquilizing chemicals.
A simple, helpful, non-invasive technique.
