I look forward to these articles that give us all a little background of the stories behind the covers. It is fun to learn about the different illustrators, that are lesser known. One comment I wanted to make is, that it is easier to follow the stories, when the picture of the cover is right next to it. I think that it makes more of an impact, when you can look at the cover, while reading the description. Thanks for this feature!

Randy - This feature honors the artwork of many, many Post cover artists from 1900 on. Unfortunately (in my opinion), around 1962 or so, the Post did away with the artistic covers and went to photographs (celebrities, politicians, etc.) to be more "current". There is a teacher or two depicted in the illustrations of the early sixties, but for this feature, we just picked out some favorite covers showing teachers.

I enjoyed this review of artists tributes to teachers. There were none posted after the 1950's. Has it been that long since the Post has honored teachers on its cover?
