I am very sorry for my above comment, BUT somebody there thought that my comment about my mother dying without knowing that I have real pain is a fact. She died thinking I was faking my horrid skin burning and arm pains that are killing me because she could see no cause for them.
As I said I am looking forward to trying the methods mentioned here.
Anyways....please forgive my earlier comment.
BYW I am a agent orange victim.
Thanks

I'm guessing some expert there is thinking that syringomyelia pain and peripheral nueropathy aren't even close to the same thing so we dismiss the syringomyelia nut and erase anything the nutjob has to offer!

Hi Mims,

I've had bi-polar depression for most of my life. To make matters more "interesting", I began having peripheral neuropathy when I was fourty. At 55 I added stenosis of the neck that needed surgery. This ailment numbed other parts of my body that added to the numbness I was already experiencing . Two years ago, I developed an immune deficency which gave me the opportunity to get infusions every three weeks to avoid dangerous infections.

Seeing how well the pharmacuitacal companies do selling anxiety and anti-depressents, I think that depression is an ailment that people had way, way, before they were ever beset by more recent ailments. To the folks out there who read this, I suggest they have a doctor help them to get their head straight before attempting your suggestions. Your ideas are excellent, I honestly mean that. The only problem that needs to be addressed first is, to get the depression under control. Once that happens, I think your solutions to make life worth living, can have a real good chance of suceeding.

Best wishes,
Marty

I am most thankful for the mail I get from the Neuropathy Group.
I find some helpful infomation from the people that have neuropathy.
I know they under stand what another person is going through with the pain.
I have had knee sugury. The knee surg and the neuropathy, seem to work together to give me pain. But I have learned, to know when its the neuropathy, and when its the knee pain. I have also had the neuropathy pain go up to my hip. I didn't know it would go up to my hip. Will the pain go up to my arms??
Thank you for any care you can give me. Alice Jacobs

Mims, I have suffered with P. N. pain for almost 20 yrs. & I can tell you that dealing with pain has consumed most of that time.
I would tell anyone that your suggestions might just be the cheapest & best prescription they will ever receive. Print this & put it on your refrigerator.
Thanks, Larry

I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy June 25, 2009. I have it from my knees to the toes in both legs. The worst part is the pain. I have never experienced anything like it. I had to make the changes of different shoes, a cane etc. I did join a local neuropathy group which I believe is affliated with the national neuropathy group. Nice to know I have lots and lots of company. I am so grateful for the top 10-coping suggestions. Anything that I learn is much appreciated. Thank you Mims, I am ordering the book.
