I thoroughly enjoyed your article “In Search of Rhett and Scarlett” in the [September/October 2009] issue. I was only 10 at the time, but remember the talk about who would play the part of Scarlett. Even though the world premiere was in Atlanta, another customary event in those days was a sneak preview. The preview for Gone with the Wind was held in Riverside, California, at the Fox Theatre. In 1989, a 50-year celebration was held with a formal dinner at the nearby Mission Inn, followed by limos taking people to the Fox Theatre for a showing of the film. I grew up with The Saturday Evening Post and so am very pleased to have it once again in my life.
