Congress should quit trying to put the natural order on OUR time-table, because it’s convenient for a particular group of people during a period in history. I understand that there were many changes made in our culture during WWII, but many of them should have been done away with after the war ended. This is a good example of how Washington would rather take advice from statisticians than it’s own people. Down with DST.

If you want to change your schedule, then do that. Don’t pretend it’s a different time than what it really is. Daylight Savings Time is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard of.

I , to agree with those, that wont,s to do away with daylight savings time. i reather have the, standerd time. i think that 8 mounths, of d.s.t .is to long. i agree with derald, if they wont more daylight. get up an hour early to do thaire thimg. i dont work, but i go to a community center 5 days, a week. i get up at around 6:00 or 6:30, and it,s still dark out side.but that dont bother me because that,s the way i like it, standerd time is better. please get the messeghet to the congressmens, to not change the clocks in, 2010 and beyond.

If you need more daylight, get up an hour earlier, Those with entrepreneurial spirit do it all the time. Frankly I tire of getting up in the dark to appease idiots who cannot get their lazy selves out of bed in the morning or remember to change the battery in their smoke alarms. When I finish my day it is again dark most times so all you have done with daylight savings time is maybe rob me of an hour or so of daylight. You might say I am in a minority well hey you give all sorts of ridiculous classes of minority special privileges and I’m just as ridiculous as they are. I’m only asking you not steal an hour from me at the beginning of summer. All kidding aside, do away with Daylight Savings time, it is a waste of effort. Really!! Better to have a national smoke alarm battery day and be done with it all at once.”

I say keep daylight savings time all year. Why switch back to standard time. I like getting off work and still having some daylight.

I say, if you want more daylight, get up an hour earlier. We aren’t getting any more daylight. We aren’t creating more time to do things. We are only shifting the time for sake of convenience. I’m from Indiana and I grew up with no time change. It was wonderful! Now that the state changes, it’s just a pain.

It is of fortune that the environment and atmosphere change like day and night and the daylight savings time makes both time changes necessary for a more efficient
and productive use of both light and dark light. No matter the situation or circumstance the research has been done and it found the changes necessary. And also, it was voted on. See National Geographic.

Yes, I think we should do away with daylight savings time. Parts of the country don’t even honor it and they get along just fine. Normal daylight and night times are much easier to adjust to without an abrupt hour change. If it keeps being extended later and later into autumn we will be on it year round!

I remember when DST was started during WW2 and maybe it made sense then, but it was supposed to end with peace time. It is one of the most idiotic holdovers that this country has hung on to. It serves no purpose that I can see. We have enough important things to remember and don’t need the aggravation of fiddling with the clocks!!!!

I say leave the time where it belongs, on Standard Time! It’s a pain in the neck to change time twice a year, doesn’t really “save” any time or money. Just makes it possible for day-working people to have an extra hour of daylight for outdoor activities. But for people like myself, who like to rise early and go for a walk, I’m in the dark more than in the light.
