The Medtronic Arctic Front Cardiac CryoAblation system was FDA approved on December 17, 2010, and more information about it (including "find a doctor") is available at medtronic.com. Click on Health Consumers, and then Atrial Fibrillation.

For ongoing clinical trials, go to clinicaltrials.gov and search for arctic front cryoablation. Eligibility criteria and contact information are listed for each study. Good luck!

Are there trials for Cryoablation that a patient could apply for in the US. My husband has been on Cumadin for 16 yrs, had his second stroke 4 months ago so we think Coumadin is not working. He is 83, in excellent health otherwise and with PT is walking with a cane, his speech is ok. We never heard of the drugs Multaq or dronedarone. He is presently seeing only a general practioner.
