This was a cover Rockwell did to relax after six grueling months of hard work on his famous “Four Freedoms”. Having fun with flying ducks, a dozing deer and a rug sprouting toadstools, the famous artist figured he “fixed the people who write in about mistakes.” No such luck. “I put 45 mistakes and incongruities into the picture,” Rockwell said, “A man wrote me from South America claiming to have found 120.” What’s a hard-working artist to do?
