I first met Wib as a new member of the South Haven Rotary Club. What a fine gentleman. I had the pleasure of reading the article in Wib's basement, one day, when I was visiting. Dottie had just finished making a accompaniment tape for our club's music program, and Wib and I got into a conversation about our respective military experiences. He talked, at length, about his time spent on Norfolk Island , and asked me if I would care to read the article. This is a wonderful story, and is certainly worth reprinting.

This article was so heartwarming and even brought tears to my eyes. We never know what our troops or troop are going through, and how much they miss home, no matter what is awaiting them. Nice tribute for Memorial Day!
