Congratulations to Donna Weiland! We are having some discussion in our house as to whether the last line has the correct number of syllables for a limerick.

Sorry I’m late for the March/April 2010 limerick contest; however, here is my contribution:
She voices her main objections,
He explains his set projections,
They’ve driven all day,
And have lost their way,
But he won’t stop for directions.
Now, I’m already to submit for the July/August competition, but I need to buy some postcards.
Amy…the last line has 7 syllables in it. This is correct. The way it goes is the first 2 and the 5th have 7 syllables and the 3rd and 4th have 5.
Limericks do not have syllable counts. Haiku has the 5-7-5 count.
The Sep/Oct 2010 winning entry submitted by Laurie Eynon was an absolute gem.
It has inspired me to get back into the competition with an entry for the Jan/Feb picture.
I entered a limerick for this picture, but cannot find who the winner is. How can I do this?
