Kamikaze came during the invasion of Japan by Mongolians, mamy centuries ago. A very strong wild started blowing and sank many of the Mongolians' ships.
The Mongolians on the beach head were without an escape. A Prince of Japan
rushed at them, I believe he might have shouted word " Kamikaze", Divine wind.
The Japanese defenders attacked the Mongolians, hence that time the Japanese
won. The prince was killed (I believe). Hence, it became more honorable to die
fighting than to give up. But in WWII, Japan never believed their enemy would
do the same thing. The Japanese had Honor, one of are Marine pilots guns were
jamed and the Japanese Pilot did shoot into pilot but rather shot into the engine.
The American pilot servived to meet up with that Japanese pilot after the war.

Kamikaze means "divine wind."
Japan was losing World War II.
To die was better in the end,
Than shame from surrender would do.
Emperor Hirohito willed
Pilots fly planes at ships of foe.
Suicide missions once fulfilled,
Might mean victory winds would blow.
Pilots flew for the rising sun,
Dropping flowers before their doom,
Before the sacrifice was done.
On Japan, those flowers still bloom.

Kamikaze failed its hoped for.
Divine winds never blow with war.

Good reading, interesting. Suicide attacks by us was designed by pilots, was a success. While their's was designed by the high command, only proved to be fearful & annoying. Kamikazes, devine wind, is their word for it.
