A renowned expert for the birds.
Ian Fleming borrowed my name,
Cuz ’twas ordinary – his words.
I was happy to be of aid.
Bird watchings’ kinda like a spy,
Not as dangerous as portrayed,
And I’m no macho, sexy guy.
Mr. Fleming loved birds as well,
Always gave them good cameo.
And I got some good show and tell
With my bird book in “Dr. No.”

Many a birdwatcher hear me -
“Bond, James Bond – I’ve got birds to see.”

My favorite movie and my favorite Bond novel both are “From Russia With Love.” Probably because “Russia” was believable and not too heavy on fantasy. Visually, the movie had great scenery (Istanbul), sets (the underground reservoir and the Orient Express), and Bond Babe Daniella Bianchi. And don’t forget that wonderful belly dance scene in the Gypsy camp, and also in the opening credits.

Glad to see you have corrected your mistaken identity of Shirley Eaton. Even my wife could see that she wasn’t Honor Blackman. I guess it must be because she’s an expert on Pussy Galore !

I should be noted that the print article in this month’s magazine, the picture for “Goldfinger” incorrectly labels Shirley Eaton as Honor Blackman. Here it is correct. Maybe my issue is now collectible.
