In the boxing ring there appears
A champion in a reborn life.
Black Muslim, Muhammad Ali,
Converted from his Cassius Clay,
Received critics’ hostility
For joining an anti-white way.
But Ali triumphed through the scorn,
A champion in the ring and out,
The highest honors to be borne
Of what America’s about.

Ali found his faith as he would,
And made it matter more for good.
