We used to say a prayer in school,
But then one day it was not said,
Something 'bout a Supreme Court rule.
I even heard that God was dead.
I figured it was all about
The grown ups doing grown up stuff.
God was still ev'rywhere - no doubt!
Just grinning at the grown up guff.
And in all schools, God is right near,
Whether or not a prayer we say.
An unsaid prayer, God still does hear.
It matters not how loud we pray.

Not said, but thought a prayer can be.
At school that's how God hears from me.

How prophetic. the comment about the wealthiest nation in the world being Spiritually bankrupt. That spiritual bankruptcy is what we're living with in the country that has supressed the vast majority of Americans into being lucky to just pay their bills, while a small percentage have more money than they could spend if they lived thousands of years.

One can't help but wonder how much of a role removing school prayer (and its positive influence) has played in our once great nation cascading downward in the five-decade crash and burn since, that unfortunately, has not hit bottom as bad as it is.

Does God really need government aid and support to get his message out? Of course our learned forefathers were familiar with history. My ancestors in France had to flee for their lives because in Catholis France it was the Death Penalty to be a Hugenot Protestant and at the same time in England it was the Death Penalty to practice Catholicism. That is why they provided for the Wall of Separation between church and state. Well meaning Religious Zealots are fallible and cannot resist the temptation to harness the power of the State to impose their passionate idea of religion upon the "heathens". Remember the Inquisition and Crusades?
Religion is almost always used in a Divisive Manner. For instance the Northern Yankees put in God we trust to put down the "Godless Confederates" and Under God was added to the flag salute to put down "those Godless Commies". God don't need the Govmint help.

Jefferson not a "churchgoing man" but he arranged as President to have mid week services held in the capital building. He also pushed to have funds appropriated for printing of Bibles for distribution. More examples by the author of selective use of history. Reading the proceedings of the constitutional convention that the purpose was to protect religion from government not the other way around.
The Post has consistently brought in a liberal bias. Why not have a side by side debate in your magazine with someone like David Barton? Doesn't it fit the agenda?
