I’m really shocked and saddened to know that this actually happened. I can’t even process this mentally right now–or ever. Reading the ALCO headline today seems very harsh and cruel. Of course a metal/steel truck wouldn’t falter, where a flesh and blood horse would. But, from the standpoint of 100+ years ago I guess it would not have been. I suppose it took that to happen to SAVE future horses from the same fate. That thought is the only good thing I can take away from this.

I love the Oldsmobile ‘Autocrat’ ad. The artwork is beautiful, and the model name itself was very clever, blending the word auto with power. I could only read the top paragraph and it’s very well written. Hopefully the public just saw the name in this context and NOT the definition referencing a ruler having unlimited authority or an oppressive and cruel dictator.
