A holiday turkey to eat.
This turkey named Jack did achieve
A dinner invite as the meat.
The White House chef did grab his axe.
Lincoln’s son, Tad, did intervene,
Putting his neck right next to Jack’s
The boy and bird caused quite a scene.
The President was called and came.
He saw the tears in his Tad’s eyes.
So a pardon he did proclaim.
As Prez and Dad, Lincoln was wise.

Oft Lincoln watched the bird and boy.
For those moments, he could enjoy.
