  1. They’re cartoons, but are often a real slice of life irony, usually unfortunate. The November 21, 1959 selection of the trains going and coming is a perfect example.

    Today that crossing symbol would have to be far more complicated as people (overall) aren’t too smart anymore, really lacking in what used to be known as basic common sense. In all fairness here though, it’s probably passing through a small town like Hooterville.
