About: Billy O'Callaghan
Billy O'Callaghan, from Cork, Ireland, has published three short story collections, most recently The Things We Lose, the Things We Leave Behind (New Island Books, 2013). He has won and been shortlisted for several awards, including the Irish Book Award, the Costa Short Story Award, and the Arts Council of Ireland Bursary for Literature. Recent stories have appeared in the Chattahoochee Review, Fiddlehead, the Kenyon Review, the London Magazine, and Salamander. His novella A Death in the Family is forthcoming as a Ploughshares Solo. His first novel, The Dead House, will be published in the UK/Ireland by O'Brien Press/Brandon Books in May 2017, with a U.S. edition due in the Spring of 2018.
