Bill Sautter was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and was for many years a newsman for The Associated Press Broadcast News Service in Washington, D.C. He has fond memories of his childhood in the Ridgewood section of Brooklyn/Queens, New York, and has written this semi-biographical short story about his life there.
