About: Valerie Trueblood

“Rescuers seem to inhabit my fiction,” says Trueblood, whose original story “Hopeless Heritage” appears on page 58. “In rural Virginia, I grew up on stories of how people met their fates or got spared—temporarily—by neighbors or passers-by on the rescue squad.” Her new collection, Search Party: Stories of Rescue, will be published in Spring 2013.
