Armed with an explosive serve and powerful forehand, tennis ace Andy Roddick recently netted an appointment to the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

"It's a great honor to be recognized in this way. When I was in school, I actually won the Presidential Fitness Award, and it was something I was always proud of," Roddick says. "I hope kids look at this and know how important it is to be active and get exercise. Tennis is a great way to have a lot of fun and be healthy."

America's king of the courts hopes to inspire youth to participate in physical fitness activities and sports in America. Recognized for accomplishments on and off the court, Roddick received the 2005 Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award and in 2004 took home an ESPY as the Best Male Tennis Player.
