Dear Dr. SerVaas: It has been many years that I read in the Post about lysine to prevent herpes outbreaks. I had been bothered by cracked and bleeding lips and sores even in my nostrils for 40 years and more. Then I even broke out with shingles.

Dear Dr. SerVaas: Please convey my thanks to Lillian Jackson for her hint about using strawberry shampoo on cracked fingers (Sept./Oct. '04). It's so nice when somebody shares a tip which really works. Who would have guessed?

Dear Dr. SerVaas: In your column, people were trying to find solutions to dry, cracking fingers. I use the following remedy and have told many friends who agree it is the easiest, cheapest treatment in the world.

Dear Dr. SerVaas: Mazie Kilgore, July/August 2003, wants a "dandruff" solution. After I tried myriad prescription and nonprescription products with little or no success, my latest "find" is Vicks VapoRub.

Dear Dr. SerVaas: I hope this idea will help Mr. Henry's dry hands. I order a lotion from the TriVita company. They have a line of products they call "Pure." I call this lotion my miracle lotion. I have trouble with my lower lip peeling in the winter.

Dear Dr. SerVaas: I had suffered from hyperhidrosis my whole life and had the "sweat surgery" about a year ago. This has improved my life tremendously. However, I now have "dry hands" and thought perhaps your readers might have some solution. My fingers crack excessively, and though I've tried every cream known to man, I've had no success.

Dear Dr. SerVaas: My dermatologist is very high on the future of Restylane injections for wrinkles. He said the treatment results are immediate and can last from six to 12 months. Is there any news on when it might be available?
