Moth Damage Control
Published: May/June 2006

In the January/February '06 issue on page 22 was a request for a nontoxic way to get rid of moths. Here is a good solution.

There is a product called Eucalan, made from eucalyptus oil by New Zealanders who know how to treat wool. It is a wonderful cleaner that prevents moth damage and does not allow wool shrinkage. It can be used either in a washing machine or by a hand wash. Instructions say to add a tablespoon to the water, agitate 30 seconds, and let stand for 30 minutes. Spin or squeeze out excess water and lay flat to dry. It leaves garments very soft, and has a wonderful fresh scent.

When it was first recommended, I found it on the Internet, but now most knitting shops carry it.
