Dear Dr. SerVaas: I was happy to see the article on lysine in the May/ June 2005 issue. I've told everyone who has or had fever sores, canker sores, or a sore mouth to use lysine. Where did I learn about that miracle medicine? From The Saturday Evening Post, of course. It was in the November/December 1995 issue on page 54. The article: "A Microbiologist Who Stopped Her Fever Blisters" by Ted Kreiter. I've sent that article to all my family and friends. Even bought bottles of lysine for them if they had sore lips or inside mouth. Now they swear by "it" also.I cannot find my magazine. It tells that foods high in arginine can pose a threat to those who suffer from fever blisters. The foods are nuts, especially peanuts, chocolate, whole-grain cereals, and gelatin. Would I be able to order that old magazine? Don't you think folks need to know about the foods that are high in arginine?
Friends call me Dr. Wheelhouse. Where do I get all my information? You know what I tell them--The Saturday Evening Post:
