Dear Dr. SerVaas: It has been many years that I read in the Post about lysine to prevent herpes outbreaks. I had been bothered by cracked and bleeding lips and sores even in my nostrils for 40 years and more. Then I even broke out with shingles.I bought L-lysine and took it and--presto--everything disappeared. I am now 86 and am never bothered, but I do keep a supply on hand.
One of my grandsons brought home a note from school that when he returned to school he would have to wear a mask over his nose and mouth because of his herpes. I told our daughter to buy L-lysine at a drugstore, and if it was not available, I always had plenty to give her. I do not take the recommended dose on the container. I take eight 500 mgs at a time and told her to give him the same. When he went back to school Monday morning--no mask and no herpes showing. Praise the Lord, as well as Dr. Cory SerVaas.
I just heard on the TV news that some doctor was working on a formula for cold sores. How blind some people can be. For me your Saturday Evening Post would be the main event on the news.
