Dear Dr. SerVaas: I cannot ignore the many, many requests I continue to read in your Medical Mailbox for help with restless leg syndrome and leg cramps.I suffered with this problem many years. My internist had me on quinine capsules for years, which didn't help at all.
The complete cure, for me, I found in The Saturday Evening Post Medical Mailbox about ten years ago, and I have never (and I want to stress never) been bothered with the problem since.
The information stated to wear warm socks at night. It was that simple: It was a difficult habit to cultivate at first, but I soon learned to wear socks year-round, hot or cold weather, because it worked. Very few times have I ever forgotten to put socks on at bedtime, and when I did, the old familiar leg cramps came back. This Medical Mailbox tip certainly worked for me.
Please advise your readers, who beg for help with this ailment, to just give this suggestion a try. It may work for them, too.
I look forward to my issues of The Saturday Evening Post with much pleasure. In my opinion, it's the best magazine publication on the market.
