Dear Dr. SerVaas: I have been taking The Saturday Evening Post for several years and really enjoy it. Your "Medical Mailbox" has much helpful information about illnesses.
I have had a problem locating flaxseed and flaxseed oil. The health-food store had pills to take, but I don't want that. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Reader: We found a store where you could order flaxseed, flax-meal (ground flaxseed), and flax oil by mail (see below).
Flaxseed has a high omega-3 content and a generous mix of soluble and insoluble fiber. It is also one of the richest sources of lignins, which scientists believe may protect against cancers. Flax products may be used in baking, but pan- or deep-frying destroys their nutritional benefits. Flaxseed, meal, and oil must be stored in the refrigerator in tightly closed containers.
To order flaxseed products by mail, write or call the Georgetown Market, 4375 Georgetown Road, Indianapolis, IN 46254, 317-293-9525.
