Cheese maybe?” Sterling scowled. “This looks like what I had for lunch.” Kate laughed. “Mom! Stop it! Stop laughing!” Sterling looked around to see who was looking. “I couldn’t help it. That was funny. OK. Did you have cheese or meat for lunch?” Sterling mumbled something. “What?” “Meat! I said.” “OK, then let’s have cheese.” “I don’t like cheese.” “OK, then meat.” “I told you! I had it for lunch.” “I know you’re not happy to be here, but snap out of it, Sterling. I’m going to sit down. Don’t eat if you don’t want.”
