Shortly before Norman Rockwell passed away in the late 1970s, he sent the editors of the Post a letter containing his all-time-favorite recipe—oatmeal cookies. Much like Rockwell’s paintings, the recipe is simple, straightforward, and classic. Make a batch today for a taste of true Americana!

I, too, have never seen a recipe that said “run under the broiler”. I also note that amount of nuts not specified, and if the baking sheet is greased or ungreased. Going to try the recipe to see how it works out, however!:)
Those BLACK WALNUTS makes these cookies
winners…and some raisins make ’em even better!
Run under the broiler? I have never heard of that before. Worth a try. : )
