The New York subway is sprinkled with performers of varying talent, but here’s one who is certain to impress. “Saw Lady” Natalia Paruz has transformed herself from dancer to unconventional musician, and Julie A. Evans has captured the story of her reinvention in our July/August issue. Now, we invite you to hear the talented Ms. Paruz play in two of our favorite videos. The first is a haunting melody and original work by Scott Munson.

And, of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t also share her interpretation of the Star Trek theme — certainly the first time we’ve heard the famed Alexander Courage piece on a carpenter’s hand saw.

To learn more about Natalia, “Hey, Saw Lady!” is currently available in print and coming soon online.

  1. Very unique…very nice. The first, as you said, is haunting. The 2nd I see caught many people’s attention in the subway. Natalia Paruz is amazing. Thank you for sharing.
