Homemade jams and preserves are delicious, but making jams and jellies can get sticky. When you’re finished canning, why not wash your hands with this canning-inspired craft?
 

Turn a Glass Jar Into a Soap Dispenser

Materials

  • Glass jar with metal lid
  • Soap pump
  • Liquid soap
  • Ribbon
  • Tools

  • Awl
  • Hammer
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Directions

  1. Screw metal lid on jar. Place awl in the middle of lid and hit with hammer to create hole large enough for the soap pump to fit snugly.
  2. Hammering the awl into jar lid.
  3. Remove lid and use pliers to flatten metal around the opening.
  4. Flattening metal with needle nose pliers.
  5. Fill jar with soap and screw lid back on. Put pump through hole in the top of jar.
  6. Placing pump in jar lid.
  7. Decorate your jar by tying a ribbon around the lid. Your soap dispenser is ready to use!

But an online search for “buy soap dispenser pumps” should give you several options to purchase pumps only.
