Robert A. Heinlein (July 7, 1907 – May 8, 1988) is a science fiction author whose fame endures today, largely due to the success of his radical novels Starship Troopers and Stranger in a Strange Land. Prior to those works, Heinlein published numerous science fiction short stories, such as this one, in the Post and other magazines. Together, these stories compose his Future History series, which competed for the Hugo Award for Best All-Time Series in 1966. In “It’s Great to Be Back!” Heinlein juxtaposes the comfortable life on the moon with the onerous life on Earth.
