Benjamin Kilgore has been telling stories his whole life. After serving four years in the Navy, Kilgore returned to school, and in 2016 received an MFA in creative writing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The author won honorable mention in both the 2015 Glimmer Train and 2016 Saturday Evening Post fiction contests. He is currently a writer and editor for the National Park Service at Big South Fork and the Obed in Tennessee. The author’s first story published by a national magazine, “Into Each Life,” was in part inspired by the boyhood memories of sneaking onto a farm to pet the horses and a longing to set them free.
