Chet Martin recently returned to his childhood dream of writing fiction, after its being sidelined by careers in education and ministry. He lives near Indianapolis, where he is active at the Indiana Writers Center and in two critique groups. His first novel, as yet untitled, is in revision. "Recluse" is his first published short story. He has been a semi-finalist for the William Van Wert Fiction Award at Hidden River Arts. His fiction often contains a strong element of his childhood years in Appalachia. Chet and his wife have three children and 10 (soon to be 11) grandchildren.
