Susan Froetschel is the author of five mystery novels, including Fear of Beauty, recipient of the Middle East Outreach Council Literature Award and the Military Writers Society of America Gold Star for Mystery Writing in 2014. She taught writing at Yale and magazine writing and literary journalism for Southern Connecticut State University and later served as editor of YaleGlobal, an online magazine that explored globalization as the interconnectedness of our world. She lives in East Lansing, Michigan, and relishes characters who resist public policies that most in their communities take for granted.
