The Saturday Evening Post, in keeping with the hardest of times; always has a jovial dash of satire to keep us grounded. 200 years of war, disease, and political unrest- just another day at the office. Thanks for reminding us we still have 4th of July, freedom, the pursuit of happiness, apple pie and sports.
Happy Bicentennial!
I agree Edwin, even though it’s after 8:40 in the evening. My favorite one here is #1. Poor Stanley’s REALLY shocked! Next would be #6. I can’t imagine (for even then) having an open trunk full of cash, and my wife bringing an additional 2 suitcases full into the house.
How about #2 with the flight attendants carrying the 2 slot machines? Instead of a casual remark, today’s violent, infantile airline passengers would be hitting, cussing at them and each other. Sadly I can’t say “just kidding.”
These cartoonists are the best and I love all their cartoons. Always a great fun way to start the day. I look forward to seeing the cartoons each day and getting a laugh to get the day going the right way.
