Agree with the “Midnight” comment. It was a “success” used during Jack Benny’s career. Proper marketing should have salvaged “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.” It was an actually good movie.
The first commercial motion picture was shown in 1895. From 1980 to now IS NOT OF ALL TIME.
I’ll throw three others in the mix: “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “A Christmas Story” were both box-office busts. (The latter didn’t even make it to the Christmas season in the theaters!) And an honorary nod to “The Horn Blows at Midnight.” (1945.) Likewise a bust but star Jack Benny mined its failure for comedy gold over the next two decades!
