  1. Agree with the “Midnight” comment. It was a “success” used during Jack Benny’s career. Proper marketing should have salvaged “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.” It was an actually good movie.

  2. I’ll throw three others in the mix: “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “A Christmas Story” were both box-office busts. (The latter didn’t even make it to the Christmas season in the theaters!) And an honorary nod to “The Horn Blows at Midnight.” (1945.) Likewise a bust but star Jack Benny mined its failure for comedy gold over the next two decades!
