Paul Hetzler wanted to be a bear when he grew up, but failed the audition. Having gotten over much of his self-pity since then, he now writes about nature. A frequent contributor to North Country Public Radio in Canton, NY, he has a monthly column in Ontario Arborist and Québec Farmers’ Advocate magazines, and his work has been published in venues including Highlights for Children magazine and the medical journal The Lancet.
Born in upstate New York (although he won’t say when), Paul lived there until 2019, at which point he swam across the St. Lawrence River to live with his Canadian wife in Val-des-Monts Québec.
