Over the last decade, print books have been the most popular way to read, steadily accounting for 65-69 percent of book consumption. But audiobook and ebook use have been rising, especially since the COVID lockdowns, which limited other sources of entertainment. The reading of novels in particular saw a peak during 2020 and 2021. The novel industry — and the book market at large — shows no signs of waning. How we consume books seems to be changing, though.

  1. I prefer physical books and they’re what I primarily read.
But I like to use an eReader for traveling.

  2. I’ve been reading ebook’s since I got my Kindle 2 back in 2009, and I’ve never looked back. I had 350 sci fi and fantasy paper back books that I sorted by author and donated all of them to the public library. Before the Kindle 2 I was limiting myself to the Sci Fi and Fantasy genre. Now with the Kindle Paperwhite 11 and the Kindle app on my iphone 13 I’m reading all genres including banned books.
