Please note, the illustrator for the Oct 4, 1919 cover, Bucking Bronco, is J.E. (James Edmund) Allen, not J.C. Allen.
Amazing, beautiful covers. Dogs and horses are my two favorite animals. I know some people that have horses and get to visit them a few times per month. It’s very calming and therapeutic. Dog sitting the two Dobermans as needed is also. The more things change, the more THEY stay the same! 🙂
The horse on the 1916 cover almost has a 3-D quality in that he’s riding OFF of the cover and comin’ at ya, literally! ‘Bucking Bronco’ is beautiful. I hope she isn’t thrown off!
The ‘Alcatraz’ horse is very majestic on that hill or mountain top. ‘Fox Hunter’ has horses and hounds—splendid pose and colors. ‘Horses and Tree Blossoms’ is wonderful as is ‘Mares and Foals’. Love the soothing simplicity.
‘Herding in Winter Storm’ is really brutal, but beautifully dynamic and dramatic. Hopefully they’re close to their destination.
