Carol Aus (1878-1934) was born in Norway and studied at Julien Academy in Paris under Jules Lefebvre. Aus painted seven covers for The Saturday Evening Post, all featuring women, with many of them in sporty poses — holding a basketball, playing tennis, and carrying a dog.
