Born in Chicago, Henry Hutt (1875-1950) was highly influential in setting styles and depicting the stylish woman of the early 20th century. In 1908 he published The Henry Hutt Picture Book, which contained more than eighty of his illustrations. The book was a popular gift during the early 1900s.
He sold his first illustration to LIFE magazine when he was 16, and continued to have many magazine commissions. Hutt produced numerous illustrations for The Saturday Evening Post, LIFE and Century magazines.
