McCauley Conner (b. 1913) illustrated advertisements in the 1940s, ’50s, and ’60s for clients such as United Airlines, Ford, and Bell Telephone and has been called one of New York’s original “Mad Men.”  He also illustrated for magazines such as The Saturday Evening Post and Collier’s. There have been several retrospectives of his work, including one at Museum of the City of New York in 1914 and another at the Delaware Art Museum in 2017.
