Ski Weld began painting covers for The Saturday Evening Post in 1937 and contributed thirteen covers in all. His style was decidedly art deco. Weld’s characters are assuredly dashing and find themselves in cosmopolitan locations surrounded by beautiful people. Weld’s thirteen covers shared marvelous stories of exotic locations and a host of entertaining sports. Weld managed to use strong directional light to create a sense of atmosphere while giving his figures a decided sense of movement and action.
