Anita Stone has an MSE and is a Master Gardener. She graduated from Cleveland State University and attended The Sandhills Community College. Anita has taught public school for 43 years, then taught horticulture at Wake Tech Community College and several senior centers throughout North Carolina.

She has written for The News and Observer, Sandhills News and several magazines including Military Officer, Countryside, BackHome, Rock and Gem, Hobby Farms, and MidTown. She was also the Yates Mill Historian for several years.
