Dr. Dion Georgiou is a freelance writer and historian based in London in the UK. He has previously taught and researched at universities including Queen Mary University of London, the University of Kent, King’s College London, and the University of Chichester. He is the co-editor of the books Sport’s Relationship with Other Leisure Industries: Historical Perspectives (2017) and The Uses of the Past in Contemporary Western Popular Culture: Nostalgia, Politics, Lifecycles, Mediations, and Materialities (forthcoming). He also regularly writes on historical and contemporary politics and culture for his Substack newsletter, The Academic Bubble.
