Elmore Leonard was an American novelist best known for writing crime novels and Westerns, many of which were made into popular films, including Out of Sight, Get Shorty, and 3:10 to Yuma. Most recently, Leonard served as an executive producer of the popular FX television series Justified — based on his novella Fire in the Hole — until his death in 2013. As a young writer, one of the author's goals was to be published in The Saturday Evening Post, which he cracked with "Moment of Vengeance."
