A graphic artist who lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joyce Barbagallo was recently awarded a 2016 Delaware Division of the Arts fellowship for emerging artist in fiction. Though she has always kept a journal, she recently enrolled in writing classes and workshops, then took the leap into fiction. “The Awkwards” is her first story published by a national consumer magazine.
